Come and Enjoy...

The Crown & Bear is a family run pub specializing in all things roast.  As a business established in 2017 the standout product has always been the British classic "The Roast Dinner", particularly the bears signature sharing platters.

People come from near and far to enjoy the Bears roasts all year round and many have raved about their goodness. Many businesses have tried to copy the Bears roasts but no one has  been able to match the quality and quantity produced consistently by the Bear.

All our roasts are freshly cooked and our meat is locally sourced from Hampshire, but the Bears cooking techniques are top secret...  recipes passed down through generations of Mr Bears family.

Every day we serve our Roast Menu alongside a pub classics menu (for those that don't want to get roasted) …both menus feature all your favourites.

You can dine at our place and collect food directly from us simply call us (01983-472684) or book a table online. We also deliver in partnership with our sister company "Roast Runner" on a Wednesday evening and  "heat & eat" style island-wide on a Sunday.

You are all most welcome to dine with us but we are also open for drinks from 12.00pm until late, pop in for a pint with friends or enjoy a nice bottle of wine in our relaxing atmosphere and snug bar.

The Crown & Bear is dog friendly in the bar area and we also have dedicated dog friendly dinning space

Blending
Old with New

The Crown & Bear pub is located at one of the most historic buildings on the Island.  The Rectory Mansion, Brading High Street, with its first resident registered at this address in 1228.

Previously known as the Hungry Bear the rebrand has been directed by bringing the buildings past into the future.

Historians have indicated that there was a Tudor pub called the Crown at the Rectory Mansion. That's why we chose the name "Crown & Bear" blending old & new.

The building has twice been owned by the King of England and one of them was the notable Henry V111. It is said what tales could be told if only buildings could talk...

Come and learn about our rich local history, share with us your knowledge and memories with us.
